38 Barracks is located in M Block of Connaught Place, New Delhi. Went on Saturday noon with friends for lunch. A well dressed guard at entrance greeted us.
*Ambience is good. I really liked the stairs which took us to the restaurant. Restaurant is based upon army theme and decorated well with beautiful guns, medals and other stuff related to army. Sitting was very comfortable.
In *drinks I had *cosmopolitan, *sex on the beech and *captain flavoured caprioska. I liked all 3 drinks, all were well prepared and caprioska is something I had first time and simply loved it.
In starters I had:
*Mirchi vada – Loved it. It was not so spicy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
*Paneer tikka barrel – I liked the taste. This was very very soft and melted quickly.
*Chicken tikka – I had their masala and malai tikkas and both was well prepared . Liked it.
*Dahi k kebab – It was not presented very beautifully but the taste really surprised me. Loved it. If you a veggie then this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for you
*Ghost k galouti kebab – Very very soft and taste was perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
*Quattrio fromogio pizza – This was the veg pizza and served with 4 different types cheese toppings.
*Fried fish and tikka – Loved it. I really liked the marination and the way it was served with French fries. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
In main course we have ordered one veg combo and and one non veg combo:
*Non veg combo – first of all I liked the way it was served in big wooden tray. In this combo they have served butter chicken having bone less chicken pieces, dal makhani, boiled rice, some papad, chatni and onion and well prepared lacha parantha. This combo is good enough for two people. Butter chicken and dal was well prepared. I loved the taste. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
*Veg combo – it was same as non veg combo, the only difference is that Kadai paneer was served instead of butter chicken and you can have bread of your choice.
In desserts I had:
*Swish pitachu roulade – Beautifully presented, I didn’t liked it much.
*Ice cream with brownie – Beautifully presented. Loved it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
*Rasgula pie with vanilla ice cream – Indian sweet Rasgula was filled inside the pie with dry fruits. I liked it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I’ll remember my first visit to 38 barracks was very long time. From drinks to desserts everything was great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from my side.
