Food Bloggers Meet at Barush The Lounge, Connaught Place, New Delhi on March 27, 2016

The name Baruch is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Baruch is: Blessed.

It was a food bloggers meet on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at 1:30pm. I was invited by Roma Malhotra, she is the owner of Delhi Foodie Insta Meet ( #DFIM ).

Barush is located just opposite Odeon Cinema, Connaught Place (CP). Barush is just walking from Gate number #3 of Rajiv chowk metro station. Parking is a big issue at this place on weekends. Barush is located on the 1st floor and their sign board is installed at the corner, you may face some difficulty to spot on the sign board first. Attached photo will give you an idea about the sign-board and exact location of the Barush from Odeon Cinema. If yours height is above 5’10 then you needs to be very careful while using stairs.

The Interior and Decor of the Barush is very elegant. Beautiful done decor with comfortable sitting. Bar area is spacious too. They also have a private area to accommodate around 25 guests.

Karela Chaat: I started with #KarelaChaat. I never seen any restaurant is serving chaat made with karela. This was something unique for me. I don’t eat karela but honestly speaking karela chaat was awesome.

Fruit Chat Mocktail: This is the mocktail i liked the most. This was very refreshing. The taste was something like a mix of pineapple juice and aam panna.

Adams Apple: This was very refreshing too. The taste was something like a mix of apple juice and cinnamon.

Choco Coconut: This is didn’t liked much. The taste was something like mix of coffee and coconut water. In other words coffee bite toffee is liquid form.

Some Pomegranate Mocktail: I didn’t remembered the name but i like it very much.  Picture is attached below.

Chukundar Ka Shorba: This was prepared very well. Actually it was more like a tomatoes soup with a twist of chukundar. The papad serve with it was good too.

Chicken Seekh Spring Roll: One word to describe this non veg snack – ‘WOW’. This was made with chicken seekh and very juicy, soft and bit spicy. The mint sauce/chatni came with it was good too. I really like the the wooden plate on which it was served very beautifully.

Stuffed Paneer Tikka: This paneer tikka i have found average. Nothing special to share about it. It was served very beautifully.

Chakhna Platter: It comes with boiled chole, masala peanuts, lacha namkeen etc. This stuff was just average.

Veg Galauti Kebabs: Very very soft kebabs served with some papad as a base. This was good too. This served with some cinnamon and coal like smell.

Naan Chicken Tikka Pizza: Desi style of pizza, used naan as a base. Taste wise it was average. If you have got bored with typical pizzas then you can give a try to this.

Talwari Malai Murg: This is actually a chicken malai tikka served with a unique way using small talwar/sword. This tikka was soft and delicious. Typical chicken tikka.

Chicken Tikka Anari Chaat: This was good stuff. Soft boneless roasted chicken pieces served with anar.

Now comes to the main course.

Tiffin Meals: This tiffin reminds me of my child hood days in which my mother sends lunch to my father. When it comes to price, this is very very economical. In just Rs. 375 (VEG) you can have 3 main course items, dal, mix veg and shahi paneer along with steamed rice/roti, salad, raita, achaar. The price of non veg tiffin is just Rs 395. The taste of butter chicken, mix veg, dal makhani and shahi paneer was average. In other words this is thali system but when it comes to price, i would say they are giving you too many things is very little price.

Now comes the desserts.

Kheer and Fruit Tart: For me it was not the kheer. It was more like a rabri stuff for me serving on a tart with some fruits.

Chocalate Papdi Chaat: It was nice but nothing great. Too many things in a single cup. Yes, it unique and if you love chocolates, you will love this chaat serve with brownie too.

Bar & Drinks

Drinks: Price of beers of all major brands is very good. A pint of Kingfisher premium you can get in less then Rs.100/-. Cocktails price is higher side but almost same as other restaurants are offering in CP.

Overall it is a wonderful place where you can have good time with your friends and family.

I really liked this place and for sure recommend to all my friends.
